If you are using an instance of SpotSource that supports bid submission, you may have a Reveal feature turned on. This is common when you have a supplier, such as an advertising agency, running bids on your behalf. You may not want the supplier running the bid to see the bid proposals submitted in order to make sure there is a level playing field.
If you are a supplier, such as an agency, running a bid and can see that proposals have been submitted, but you can't see the actual proposals, then it is likely that you need your client to Reveal the bids.
If you have the Reveal feature turned on, then you will have a users added to a Reveal Bids role group that your platform administrators can manage.
If you are allowed to Reveal Bids, you will just go to the Bid tab of your project. There you can review the bid proposals and click on Reveal Bids. This might be set up to allow a "Reveal All" bids or to individually "Reveal" each bid.
Here are things you need to know about the Reveal Bids features:
- Users have to be added to the Reveal Bids role group by their administrators in order to see bids and click to reveal them.
- Supplier users that start a bid on behalf of their client, must select a client user from the Reveal Bids role group to be a project owner for the bid. This makes sure they can reveal the bids once the bid deadline is passed or all bids are in and ready.
- Bid Revealers must go to the project Bid tab and click on Reveal All, or Reveal individual proposals, in order for the supplier users running the bid to see the proposals. This may also be true for other client users who do not have Reveal permissions.
- Some clients want bids to auto-reveal at when the bid deadline is passed and others want to manually reveal it each time. This is a setting the client would choose during setup.
Tip: On some instances of SpotSource, suppliers, such as an agency, must be added to a "Run Bids" role group to be allowed to run bids on behalf of their client. This is managed by the client's administrators just like the role group for Reveal Bids users.
